**Odisha Launches Subhadra Yojana: A Transformative Initiative for Women**
The Odisha government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, has rolled out the Subhadra Yojana, a landmark initiative aimed at empowering women across the state. Announced recently in the Assembly, the scheme is set to be implemented over the financial years 2024-25 to 2028-29.
Subhadra Yojana Eligibility
The Subhadra Yojana is designed to benefit over 1 crore women in Odisha, targeting those aged between 21 and 60. However, certain categories of women will be excluded from the scheme. These include women who are employed in government jobs, income tax payers, and those belonging to financially well-off families. Additionally, women who are already receiving financial assistance of Rs 1,500 or more per month under other government schemes will not be eligible for the Subhadra Yojana.

Subhadra Yojana Benefits
Eligible beneficiaries under the scheme will receive Rs 5,000 in their bank accounts twice a year—once during Rakshya Bandhan and again on International Women’s Day, March 8. Over a period of five years, each beneficiary will receive a total of Rs 50,000. The funds will be directly credited to their bank accounts, ensuring a smooth and transparent transfer process.

Subhadra Yojana Apply Process
To facilitate the application process, forms will be made available free of cost at Anganwadi Centres, Block Offices, Mo Seva Kendras, and Jan Seva Kendras. Additionally, a dedicated Call Centre will be established to assist women in availing the scheme’s benefits.
The Subhadra Yojana is poised to bring about significant socio-economic changes in the lives of women in Odisha, marking a major step forward in the state's commitment to gender equality and women's empowerment.
